  • Bird's eye view in summer day

Summer view of Riga central part from St Peter's church. This summer was hot and quite sunny but still - it passed so quickly. Now we have temperatures only around 15-20 C, at least sun is shining last days. But I watch the weather news with envy again - the summer is stil in full bloom in Athens, Rome, Madrid...

  • Charming boulevards below your feet

This is the view you get on Riga from the upper floors of the hotel Latvia highrise. Here you see rather small part of centre - Boulevard Ring in forefront, then Old Town but in the background - left bank of Daugava river which as you see is a very green city, with cosy low-floor built-up.

  • Bye, bye winter!

To say "bye, bye!" to the coldest winter in 21st Century in Latvia, which has ended now. Many disliked it, but I was one of those who loved the thick snow, coldness and sunny days (however, most them were in January, February and March was totally grey again and then I started to long after spring).

  • Aerial Riga

View you see before landing in Riga airport (RIX). It's almost all Riga from North (closer) to South, in it's 30 km length. River Daugava cuts the city in 2 pieces, the water reservoir you see in the background belongs to Riga Hydroelectric Power station - there have been speculations of what could happen with the city, if the station's damb cracks...
